Research Awards

College of Arts & Sciences Fellowship: Interdisciplinary Dissertation Seminar. Case Western Reserve University. Fall 2020.

The CAS Dissertation Seminar is a competitive fellowship designed to provide a semester of monetary and community support for PhD students during the dissertation-writing stage of their programs. The seminar involves workshopping a chapter of each participant’s dissertation as well as discussing the broader role of humanistic scholarship.

Neil MacIntyre Memorial Prize. Department of English, Case Western Reserve University. Awarded November 2019.

The MacIntyre Prize is an annual award recognizing the best scholarly paper written by an English Department graduate student at CWRU. Awarded for my paper, “Indigenous Foodways and Rhetorical Healing: How Cookbook Authors Develop Ethos and Reconstitute Cultural Identity in Pursuit of Health and Well-Being.”

Adrian Salomon Dissertation Award. Department of English, Case Western Reserve University. Awarded for Academic Year 2019-2020.

The competitive Arthur Adrian and Roger B. Salomon Dissertation Fellowships release one or more advanced doctoral students from Graduate Assistantship duties for a term, to devote full-time attention to the dissertation project.

Teaching Awards

Graduate Dean’s Instructional Excellence Award. School of Graduate Studies, Case Western Reserve University. Spring 2020.

This award is given to graduate students who have been nominated by their departments as an individual who demonstrates outstanding achievement in instruction.

Creative Writing Awards

1st place, Timothy Calhoun Memorial Prize for Poetry for poem “A Minor Procedure.” Department of English, Case Western Reserve University. Awarded Spring 2021.

The Timothy Calhoun Memorial Prize for Poetry is awarded to the best poem or group of poems by a graduate student in the English Department at CWRU.

2nd place, Timothy Calhoun Memorial Prize for Poetry for poems “Figuration” and “to the girl of the skull with a seashell ear.” Department of English, Case Western Reserve University. Awarded Spring 2020.

3rd place, Timothy Calhoun Memorial Prize for Poetry for poem “Aberration.” Department of English, Case Western Reserve University. Awarded Spring 2019.

Graduate Student Appreciation Award. School of Graduate Studies, Case Western Reserve University. Awarded Spring 2021.

The Graduate Student Appreciation award is given to graduate students who have been nominated by a university faculty, staff, or student for their contributions that improve the campus community and/or surrounding Cleveland community.
